Galápagos Life Fund (GLF) joins RedLAC
, Oct Fri, 2024
We are pleased to announce that Galápagos Life Fund (GLF) has been accepted as a member of RedLAC, a strategic network promoting conservation and sustainability in the region. RedLAC, composed of 32 environmental funds from 20 countries, fosters cooperation and the exchange of best practices among institutions committed to environmental protection, strengthening our ability to make a positive impact on the ecosystems of Galápagos.
The RedLAC Congress 2024, held in St. Lucia from October 7 to 10, was the event where our Executive Director, Mónica Calvopiña, had the honor of representing GLF, presenting our mission, achievements, and vision to an international audience. During this event, GLF was officially inducted as a RedLAC member, a significant milestone that reinforces our commitment to long-term conservation and sustainability principles.
The congress focused on the theme “30x30x30: The Road to 2030,” highlighting global efforts to protect 30% of marine and terrestrial ecosystems by 2030. This goal aligns with our local and regional initiatives to preserve the natural capital of the Galápagos Islands, contributing to global conservation targets.
GLF’s integration into RedLAC marks a new phase of strategic collaboration, allowing us to expand our partnerships, share knowledge, and strengthen our conservation efforts. We are honored to be part of this network and reaffirm our commitment to continue working for a more sustainable future for Galápagos and the health of our oceans.
