Guardianas Azules Launches Educational Platform to Extend Its Conservation Legacy
, July 1, 2026
A year of learning, growth, and transformation has led to the launch of the Guardianas Azules Educational Platform—a digital space that will extend the project’s impact and inspire new generations.
On June 26, the 20 Guardianas Azules came together with the San Cristóbal community to celebrate the completion of an initiative that demonstrated how empowering women through learning, leadership, and a deeper connection with nature creates lasting benefits for entire communities.
Over the past year, the Guardianas explored the marine ecosystems of Galápagos, gained firsthand knowledge of its extraordinary biodiversity, strengthened their confidence, and developed the skills to become active advocates for conservation and their rights.
Today, that knowledge lives on through an educational platform designed to inspire more people to care for the ocean, value the unique natural heritage of Galápagos, and help build more sustainable and inclusive communities.
Guardianas Azules is an initiative of Fundación Ola Igualdad, funded by the Galápagos Life Fund, with the support of Asociación Corazones Unidos and the Galápagos campus of San Francisco de Quito University.
