Training to Strengthen Control and Surveillance in Galápagos

By Galápagos Life Fund, April 15, 2026

With funding from the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF), a theoretical and hands-on training was conducted in Guayaquil, coordinated by WildAid, to strengthen the specialized knowledge of the Galápagos National Park ranger technical team.

During the training, participants enhanced their understanding of the operation, functioning, and preventive maintenance of generators and the main engine of the vessel Sierra Negra, one of the ocean-going boats used for control and patrol of marine protected areas.

Through actions like these, GLF contributes to strengthening the technical and operational capacity of the Environmental Authority in the archipelago, supporting the protection of the Galápagos Marine Reserve and the Hermandad Marine Reserve.
