Shortlisted Projects Receive Training on Environmental and Social Safeguards

GLF, June 22, 2026

Representatives of the small grant projects shortlisted under the Galápagos Life Fund’s Second Call for Proposals participated in a training session on environmental and social safeguards, a key component in the responsible design and implementation of their initiatives.

The session brought together more than 20 participants through both in-person and virtual formats. During the workshop, attendees were introduced to practical tools and approaches for identifying, preventing, and managing potential environmental and social risks. These safeguards help minimize unintended impacts while strengthening project sustainability and long-term outcomes from the earliest stages of implementation.

As part of its technical assistance process, the GLF continues to provide capacity-building opportunities that support the development of strong, well-designed projects grounded in responsible management and positive impacts for the communities and ecosystems of Galápagos.
