Partnerships for the Future of Our Oceans

As part of the 49th anniversary of the General Directorate of Maritime Interests (DIGEIM), our Executive Director, Mónica Calvopiña, attended the formal commemorative ceremony held in Quito.

During the ceremony, the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF) was recognized for its support and ongoing collaboration with DIGEIM—reflecting a partnership that continues to grow through shared expertise and coordinated efforts to strengthen ocean governance and protect marine ecosystems.

Most recently, the two institutions signed a Strategic Cooperation Alliance focused on key areas including ocean and coastal governance, marine spatial planning, conservation, environmental education, and sustainable maritime development.
