EcoFest: Learning, Conservation, and Community

GLF, June 5, 2026

In celebration of World Environment Day, we joined EcoFest 2026, organized by the Municipality of Santa Cruz, an event dedicated to promoting environmental awareness and strengthening public engagement in the conservation of Galápagos.

Throughout the fair, we shared information with students, families, and visitors about the importance of the Hermandad Marine Reserve as a vital biological corridor connecting marine protected areas across the Eastern Tropical Pacific. This corridor plays a key role in supporting the movement and protection of highly migratory species such as sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, and cetaceans.

We also highlighted the work of the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF) in advancing sustainable financing for marine conservation, supporting initiatives that help protect one of the world’s most unique and ecologically important marine ecosystems.
