Galápagos Brings Together Voices to Shape the Future of Our Oceans

On the first day of the 2026 Maritime Conference, the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF) joined a discussion on marine, coastal, and ocean governance—an essential component of effective management and long-term conservation across Galápagos’ marine protected areas.

Our Executive Director, Mónica Calvopiña, joined Cristian Sevilla of the Galápagos National Park Directorate for a panel discussion focused on governance and the importance of coordination among institutions and local communities in strengthening the management of the Galápagos Marine Reserve and the Hermandad Marine Reserve.

At the GLF, we support these efforts through funding and technical assistance, helping strengthen the long-term conservation and effective management of Galápagos’ marine ecosystems.
