By Galápagos Life Fund, May 22, 2026

On San Cristóbal Island, and as part of the Galápagos Life Fund’s third anniversary, the GLF Board of Directors held its 19th working session to address key strategic topics related to the fund’s institutional progress, the implementation status of the first year of the Government Project aimed at strengthening marine control and surveillance, and the ongoing monitoring of initiatives financed by the GLF.

Among the session’s most significant outcomes was the approval of the preselection of projects under the fund’s second call for proposals, representing more than USD 4 million in support of community-based initiatives across Galápagos.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to assess progress, strengthen governance processes, and advance actions focused on promoting sustainable, long-term solutions for the marine conservation of Galápagos.
