By Galápagos Life Fund, April 16, 2026

With financial support from the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF), the Artisanal Fishing Production Cooperative Horizontes de Isabela (COPAHISA) is advancing in the implementation of its project, beginning with the maintenance and upgrading of the freezing chambers at its collection center.

These actions are part of a comprehensive process aimed at strengthening the fisheries value chain, improving administrative management, and promoting best practices in resource handling. The rehabilitation of this infrastructure will help optimize product preservation and create better conditions for commercialization.

Through this project, GLF is benefiting more than 180 member fishers by providing training, management tools, and supporting the implementation of a sustainable model that will contribute to boosting the local economy, ensuring fair prices, and promoting responsible fishing practices in Galápagos.
