Progress Toward Participatory Representation
, August 21, 2025
As part of the selection process for the new NGO sector representative to the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF) Board, the 9 eligible organizations have convened independently and are now carrying out the election of their representative, in accordance with the established procedure.
All qualified NGOs had the opportunity to vote and to be elected, in a democratic, autonomous, and transparent process.
The outcome of this election will be officially presented at the next GLF Board meeting, scheduled for the second week of September, where it will be reviewed and approved by the Board in line with the Statute. The newly elected representative will serve a 2-year term, representing the NGO sector on the GLF Board.
This process reaffirms our commitment to active participation, transparency, and the plurality of voices in marine conservation governance.
