ORCA Club: learning from the ocean… by living the ocean

Can you imagine growing up learning about the sea from the sea itself? That is ORCA Club—a project funded by Galápagos Life Fund that brings children and fishing families and the Santa Cruz community closer to the marine world in a fun, educational, and truly hands-on way.
Through the book Dreams with Orcas, children explore key environmental topics and then put them into practice. They learn to snorkel, identify marine species, connect with the ecosystems that surround their daily lives, and build confidence in the ocean.
Fifty children aged 5 to 12 take part in this club. Divided into groups, they participate in weekly educational outings over 18 weeks, strengthening their bond with the ocean and nurturing, from an early age, a deep commitment to its conservation
