In Galápagos, growing up surrounded by the ocean doesn’t always mean truly knowing it
, March 20, 2026
Many young people see it every day… but few have the opportunity to explore it, understand its fragility, and discover the role they can play in protecting it. That’s why Guardians of Marine Life exists.
This program creates hands-on experiences where young people don’t just learn about conservation—they live it. During the camps, they sleep by the ocean, monitor sea turtles, explore ecosystems, and begin to see themselves as part of the solution.
Guardians of Marine Life is co-implemented by the Galápagos National Park Directorate and Fundación ECOS, with funding from the Galápagos Life Fund.
