“Flavors, Knowledge, and the Sea” – Manta celebrates its fishing heritage
, October 24, 2025
The city of Manta enjoyed a day filled with pride and flavor during “Flavors, Knowledge, and the Sea,” a fair that celebrates the fishing identity and the work of coastal communities.
Held within the framework of the Transitional Assistance Plan (TAP) of the Hermandad Marine Reserve, funded by the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF), the event brought together seven groups of women who took part in a culinary competition featuring traditional dishes prepared during their training sessions, as well as children from three age categories who expressed their love for the ocean through art
Thanks to the commitment of the Municipality of Manta and the private sector, the fair became a celebration of the fishing spirit — women transforming their craft into opportunity, and children learning to cherish the ocean as a source of life and hope.
