Discover the story behind the GLF logo: A community creation
, Aug Fri, 2024
The Galapagos Life Fund (GLF) logo was born from a collaborative process involving our community. The fins of a whale and a hammerhead shark, two iconic migratory marine animals of the Galápagos, were chosen as the symbols to represent our mission. But the story of how these elements came together is as inspiring as the logo itself.
We launched an open invitation to the students of the Galápagos Islands, encouraging them to submit their ideas for the GLF logo. The response was overwhelming, with many creative and thoughtful designs pouring in. After careful consideration, one design stood out—a creation by Rebeca Chisaguano, a talented young woman from Santa Cruz Island. Her vision captured the essence of our commitment to the conservation of Galápagos’ unique marine life.
Rebeca’s design, featuring the fins of a whale and a hammerhead shark, was selected as the winner of our contest. This logo not only reflects the rich biodiversity of the Galápagos but also symbolizes the collective effort and creativity of our community in preserving these natural treasures.
We’re proud to showcase a symbol that resonates with the passion and dedication of the people of the Galápagos. It’s more than just a logo; it’s a reminder of the power of collaboration and the importance of involving our community in every step of our journey.
