Learning at sea also means caring for Galápagos
, January 16, 2026
15 students from Galo Plaza School participated in an educational experience through the Galápagos Infinito program, implemented by Fundación Naveducando and funded by the Galápagos Life Fund. The day included a visit to Playa de los Marinos, on Baltra Island, and a circumnavigation of Daphne Major, where the ocean became a living classroom for learning, observation, and discovery.
Through this hands-on experience, students strengthened their connection with the marine environment, expanded their knowledge of biodiversity, and developed greater awareness and commitment to conservation. Initiatives like this help shape new generations of ocean guardians by promoting values of care, respect, and shared responsibility for one of the planet’s most fragile and valuable ecosystems.
In Santa Cruz, these activities took place over 17 days of outings between November and January, reaching 325 seventh-grade students from 11 local schools, marking the completion of this phase of the program on the island.
Investing in environmental education is investing in the future of Galápagos.
