A new environmental education opportunity has arrived in Floreana

GLF, September 15, 2025

For the first time, all the students of Amazonas School on Floreana Island are joining this unique experience that now connects the four inhabited islands of Galápagos: The Gills Club.

The 24 children of Floreana are now engaging in science and conservation activities designed to spark their curiosity and interest through both classroom sessions and hands-on practice.

The Gills Club continues to grow! This month, activities also began in San Cristóbal with 14 girls, while Santa Cruz moves forward with 13 girls and Isabela with 11.

This project is made possible thanks to the support of Galápagos Life Fund, Galapagos Conservation Trust, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, Oceans for All Alliance, Craghoppers, Galapagos Sharksky Travel and Conservation, Metropolitan Touring, Hotel Finch Bay, and Daughters of the Deep.
