
We continue with the selection process for the new NGO representative

As part of the ongoing process to select the new NGO Sector Director for the Board of the Galápagos Life Fund (GLF), the registration phase closed on July 16, 2025. Following the evaluation carried out by the Commission appointed by the Board, the results are as follows:
✅ 13 non-governmental organizations submitted applications.
✅ 9 organizations met all the eligibility requirements and selection criteria.
✅ 4 organizations did not qualify; one of them did not submit supporting documentation.
The following organizations have been approved and now form part of the NGO Sector of the GLF Board, and are eligible to continue in the process:

▪ Fundación Ecuatoriana de Conservación – 4 Nature
▪ Charles Darwin Foundation
▪ Island Conservation
▪ Naveducando
▪ Fundación de Conservación Jocotoco
▪ ECOS
▪ Conservation International
▪ WildAid
Next stage: PHASE 3 – Election of the NGO Sector Director
According to the established schedule, the eligible NGOs must self-organize and carry out the election of their representative to the GLF Board in an independent, democratic, and transparent manner. This process must be documented with:
✅ Attendance record
✅ Signed minutes of the election
📌 The elected NGO Sector Director will serve a two-year term, and their appointment must be formally communicated to the GLF.
📌 The GLF Board will acknowledge and approve this designation at its next meeting in September, in accordance with the Statutes.
